The Goodyear Blimp is heading to Greater St. Louis
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's newest airship Wingfoot Two is scheduled to arrive the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 9. Residents may have an opportunity to catch a glimpse of it as it flies through the area during an overnight stop in Alton, Ill. and upon its departure as it flies through Missouri the following morning.
- Who: Goodyear Blimp Wingfoot Two and 26-member crew
- What: The Goodyear Blimp is scheduled to fly through the skies of St. Louis, including a flyover the Gateway Arch. Fans can welcome Wingfoot Two to town on social media by using the hashtags #WelcomeWingfoot2 and #BlimpGoesWest.
- Where: Mooring at St. Louis Regional Airport – 18 Terminal Drive, Alton, Ill. 62024
- When: Arriving the afternoon of Monday, Oct. 9; departing Tuesday, Oct. 10 with a Gateway Arch flyby between 10-11 a.m. CT (weather-permitting)
- Why: Wingfoot Two has embarked on a 2,600-mile, cross-country journey from Akron, Ohio to Los Angeles. The three-week tour, which includes flights over 10 states and numerous stops, is scheduled to end in Long Beach, Calif. by the end of the month.
