GOODYEAR LAUNCHES FLEETHQ UTILITY EVENT RESPONSE PROGRAM PREMIUM SERVICE WILL HELP TIRE DEALERS KEEP UTILITY TRUCKS UP AND RUNNING DURING POWER OUTAGES

AKRON, Ohio, Jan. 30, 2012 – When severe weather strikes, people need utility vehicles to restore essential services like water and electricity. In these times of crisis, service matters.

To keep fleet utility vehicles up and running, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced the fleetHQ Utility Event Response program, a premium, tire-related service that will help utility vehicles receive optimal support from tire dealers during power outages and other emergency situations.

“Operating through fleetHQ’s industry-leading, 24/7 Solution Center, Utility Event Response mobilizes local and national resources for rapid, reliable service to utility vehicle during power outages,” said Bruce Woodruff, director of business solutions marketing, Goodyear.

“Tires, service trucks and expert tire technicians are standing at the ready to deliver fast, reliable service around the clock.”
The fleetHQ Solution Center will dispatch tire dealers’ service trucks and technicians to sites that have been impacted by power outages.

Utility Event Response also will offer premium Goodyear tires in the sizes and types necessary for utility vehicles.

In addition, customized event reporting “will help participants make more efficient and effective decisions during times of crisis,” according to Woodruff. “This is a premium service that is exclusively available through fleetHQ.”

Utility Event Response is one of many business solutions offered through fleetHQ. Others include:

• National account programs for fleets of all sizes, including nationwide pricing and billing available through the fleet or owner-operator’s hometown dealer.
• Gold Medallion retreaded tires, which are available in six of the most popular medium truck tire sizes.
• Tire Pix, a service that provides photos of tires that were replaced during a road service call.
• The fleetHQ Truck Stop Network, which encompasses more than 300 locations. Participants include Wingfoot Truck Care Centers, Travel Centers of America, Petro Truck Stops, PTP Truckstop Network and Boss Truck Shops.

fleetHQ business solutions are available to trucking operations of every size, from large fleets to single owner-operators. “Many benefits, such as the fleetHQ Solution Center, are offered at no cost to the fleet,” noted Woodruff.

“The fleetHQ program – including its diverse and powerful components – demonstrates Goodyear’s ongoing commitment to helping our customers save time and money.”
