Goodyear Blimp Bases Make Spirits Bright with Annual Toys for Tots Drives

Communities in Ohio, Florida and California are invited to help deliver holiday cheer while experiencing the iconic Goodyear Blimp up close

AKRON, Ohio, Oct. 27, 2026 – Whether it’s the daily commute or the drive home for the holidays, Goodyear helps people get where they need to go. This holiday season, Goodyear is helping deliver joy too, once again partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program to host annual toy drives at all three Goodyear Blimp bases.

Now in its 16th year, the tradition gives community members a rare opportunity to step inside the iconic Goodyear Blimp hangars while helping make the holidays brighter for local children. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy, with donations benefiting Toys for Tots campaigns in each blimp base community.

Over the past 16 years, toy drives at Goodyear Blimp bases have collected more than 300,000 toys and raised more than $875,000 for the Marine Toys for Tots Program, helping deliver holiday joy to children and families across the country.

Goodyear is inviting communities across the country to get an up-close look at the Goodyear Blimp while supporting Toys for Tots this holiday season.

  • Ohio | Wingfoot Lake: Dec. 4–6, from 2–7 p.m. Residents can drive through the Wingfoot Lake Blimp hangar for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look before dropping off their donation to a U.S. Marine representing Toys for Tots.
  • Florida | Pompano Beach: Dec. 6, from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. The event will feature open house tours of the Blimp hangar. Attendees can register for a tour here.
  • California | Carson: Dec. 4, from 2–5 p.m., and Dec. 5, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Attendees can secure their tour spot beginning Nov. 1 here.

“For 16 years, this tradition has brought our communities together around the holidays in a uniquely Goodyear way,” said Joni Fitch, director of community engagement at Goodyear. “Opening our blimp hangars gives us a special opportunity to welcome our neighbors and support Toys for Tots in helping make the holidays brighter for local children and families.”

Founded in 1947, the mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

"We are very pleased to welcome Goodyear back for their 16th year as a National Corporate Donor of the Marine Toys for Tots Program," said retired Marine Colonel Ted Silvester, Chief Revenue Officer of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “With their generous support, we will be able to fulfill the Christmas holiday dreams of thousands of less fortunate children, who otherwise might have been forgotten."
