The standard tire fitment for the highly anticipated model will be Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires in a 20-inch wheel diameter. Chevrolet announced that the 2012 Camaro ZL1 is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that generates up to 580 horsepower.

Among exotic, high-powered automobiles such as this, the ability to transmit the power and torque to the pavement rests with the work completed by the vehicle engineering team and a tire company's engineers. In the case of the Camaro ZL1, a design team from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company developed a tire with a special ultra-performance rubber compound.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires for the Camaro ZL1 -- in size 285/35ZR20 (front) and 305/35ZR20 (rear) -- have been optimized specifically for the ZL1 to yield outstanding handling while maintaining excellent street tire performance for wet handling, treadwear, low noise and rolling resistance.

Goodyear tires are original equipment on many vehicles from Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Lincoln, Mazda, Nissan, Porsche and Toyota.  Traditionally, more new vehicles in North America are equipped with Goodyear tires than any other brand.
