Ram chooses Goodyear Wrangler Tires for 2014 Power Wagon

AKRON, Ohio, April 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With the launch of its new 2014 Power Wagon, Ram Trucks says it has developed the most off-road-capable pickup on the market. To balance the need for on-road civility and off-road performance, Ram chose to equip the Power Wagon with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac® tires.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio, USA.

Built to master the most rigorous off-road trails, the 2014 Ram Power Wagon is based on the Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 4x4 Crew Cab, but features a number of off-road-specific engineering enhancements, including a unique suspension with more than two inches of lift, locking differentials and a 12,000-pound winch.

Goodyear's 33-inch Wrangler DuraTrac tires, size LT285/70R17, provide the Power Wagon with traction to face rugged off-road terrain—such as sand, mud and snow—while still offering a quiet ride on paved roads.

When venturing off-road, self-cleaning shoulder blocks help clear the tire's tread of debris for enhanced dirt, gravel and mud traction, while TractiveGroove Technology™ offers enhanced traction in deep mud and snow. On the highway, the DuraTrac's highly angled center tread blocks enhance traction and lateral stability while reducing road noise.

"The superior off-road performance of the Wrangler DuraTrac is well suited for a truck like the Ram Power Wagon," said Sara Vacha, Goodyear all-terrain brand manager. "Ram's choice of the DuraTrac is further testament of the tire's capability—both on and off the road."

Goodyear tires are on more new vehicles in North America than any other brand.
